Few years back, music legend AR Rahman has won Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire. The maestro has been in contention for the Academy Awards once again for the music of the film Pele: Birth of a Legend. It has been a sports biopic that has impressed thousands of soccer lovers throughout the world.
More than 145 music scores are already in the long list of award contention which will happen sometime around next year. Along with AR Rahman, there are some other music composers in the list for the honour. Michael Zimbalist and Jeff Zimbalist directed movie on the Brazilian Football Legend Pele has attracted the eyes of audience. To celebrate legacy of the player, the song Ginga has been created by music legend Rahman. The song has been made a part of the 91 songs that have been competing for the award on the Original Song segment. The list of the contenders has been released recently from the side of Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Rahman score has found a place between Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, La La Land, Florence Foster Jenkins and Moana. The music maestro has to compete with music scores from all these movies to lift the Oscars again. The final nomination for the Academy Award will be announced on 24th January. However, the award ceremony is scheduled on the 26th of February in the Dolby Theatre which is placed in Hollywood and Highland Center, LA.
So, everyone is looking forward to 26th January when the final nomination will be announced. If the music legend manages to get a nomination then it can be a proud moment for us certainly.
