Following the path of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Gulabo Sitabo, Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi biopic and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre will release now on OTT platform. Due to lockdown, the makers have decided to bypass the route of theatre and go straight to digital platform. According to one of our sources who is pretty close to the producer of Gulabo Sitabo Ronnie Lahiri has said, “The deal of releasing ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, a quirky comedy set in Lucknow, and ‘Shakuntala Devi’ on Amazon Prime Video has been locked. The official announcement for both the films is most likely to be made this week.” However, both the makers have not commented on the subject officially yet.
Producer of Chehre Anand Pandit has said that digital release has been under consideration for a long time. Elaborating it further, he has said “Given how the lockdown is panning out, a digital release for ‘Chehre’ is being mulled.” However, they may wait till the first week of June before taking a final decision.
