Yes, you have heard it right. Vicky Kaushal is ready to reunite with her Raazi director Meghna Gulzar once again. Right now, Uri – The Surgical Strike actor has been on a signing spree. He already has few movies in his hand. However, he has been constantly looking for new opportunities at the same time. Following to the success of Uri, Raazi and Sanju, Vicky has become an A-lister now. Some of his upcoming movies are Udham Singh biopic, The Vanishing Act and Takht. Soon, he is expected to be seen in Bhoot: Part 1 – The Haunted Ship also.
Now, he has signed Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming movie on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. The movie is produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Regarding the movie, director Meghna Gulzar has said recently “We wanted to finish the edit on the draft first before reaching out to an actor. One day, I just called up Vicky, who happened to be nearby and invited him over for a cold coffee. We had a conversation about Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. He was about to fly to the US and said that he doesn’t want to read the script and would just do the film. But I insisted that he read it and call me.”
According to reports, Raazi actor Vicky Kaushal is expected to prepare for the part by meeting people who are close to Manekshaw and watching his videos. Talking about impression of Manekshaw on him, Vicky has said “I personally couldn’t witness his achievements, but my parents would always tell me that he was a fearless patriot with an amazing leadership quality. The first time I’d heard of him was in the context of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.”
Sam Manekshaw has been the first officer from Army who has been given the rank. In a career over four decades, he has been part of five wars including Indo-Pak war in 1971 which led to freedom of Bangladesh. In 2008, Maneskshaw has died in a hospital in Tamil Nadu at the age of 94.
