Telugu movie named Prasthanam that has released in the year 2010 is going to be remade in Hindi starring Sanjay Dutt and Ali Fazal. In some important characters, Manisha Koirala, Amyra Dastur and Jackie Shroff will be seen also. Similar to the original, the remake will be helmed by director Dev Katta. Shooting of the movie is being done in Mumbai at the moment. It seems that release date of the movie has been decided now. By posting a teaser from the movie, makers have announced that Prasthanam will hit the theatres on 20th September. Sanjay Dutt has shared the teaser from his social media account.
Prasthanam is a political drama which also showcases complex relationship within family. Following to the release of movie in Telugu, it has been loved by the audience and won lots of awards at the same time. Talking about how the idea of a remake has started, director Dev Katta has said “Sanjay Dutt got interested in the project, which was in 2011-2012 within one-two years of release. In between he went to jail and then came back and the follow up was passionate regarding the film. I was interested because of the intensity of interest from his side.”
Further, director has added “Fundamentally there are no changes to the story at all, except refining and polishing the canvas and all that. It is very relevant. I have rewritten the screenplay the dialogues were provided by Farhad.”
