In Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Ajay Devgn will be featured as Tanhaji Malusare who has been one of the generals of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s army. The movie is a period war drama. Through the trailer, it has been established that the movie is taking us back to 4th February, 1670 when Battle of Singhagad has been fought. During this battle, everything has come to a standstill. Posting the trailer on social media, Ajay Devgn writes “4th Feb 1670: The battle that brought the entire nation to a standstill. Witness the moment history was created.” On the occasion, Ajay Devgn has definitely indicated the Battle of Singhagad.
By fort keeper Uday Bhan aka Saif Ali Khan, the Kondhana Fort has been attacked when Chhatrapati Shivaji has been the ruler. During this war, Tanhaji has died while fighting with Uday Bhan. However, he has managed to safeguard the Kondhana Fort from the Mughals. Following to this battle, Kondhana Fort has been renamed as Sinhagad which means Lion’s Fort. It has been done by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in order to pay respect to the bravery of Tanhaji.
Through the second trailer of Tanhaji the Unsung Warrior, history of Maratha Empire has been brought in front of us. It shows that Tanhaji is prepared for the battle. On the other hand, Uday Bhan is also ready with his complex battle plans. Here, Sharad Kelkar will be seen in the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Trailer especially shows bravery of Tanhaji who stays immovable as his arm is being cut. Instead of writhing in pain, Tanhaji stills talks about the Bhagwa and he must defend it. Character of Kajol as Tanhaji’s wife Savitribai Malusare is in dilemma as she is a warrior’s wife as well as a mother.
Release of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior directed by Om Raut will be seen in 3D on 10th January, 2020.
