Chandrakanta, the popular TV serial of 90s is all set to return to small screen as two channels Colors and Life Ok will soon air the fantasy drama. Now, there is much buzz in the industry on the final decision of lead role. It has been heard that the makers of the serial on Like Ok are about to shortlist two television actresses’ names – Surveen Chawla and Shilpa Anand. It has been also revealed that the makers of the serial want an actress who has not been exposed much on television.
Here, we remind you that though Suvreen was seen recently in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa and 24, she has not performed in any fiction show since Kaajal and Kasauti Zindagi Kay almost seven years ago.
The makers have also another name in mind – Shilpa Anand who was seen in Dil Mill Gaye. Shilpa Anand has also done a single diction show Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani. After that, she did many Punjabi films.
In the meantime, there is also a buzz that Hina Khan is about to bag the role of Chandrakanta for Color’s show. Hina Khan is quite popular television actress known as Akshara from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehtala Hai. In fact, recently she went to Bigg Boss season 10’s Weekend Ka Vaar episode. We have also heard that she is about to launch a show under her banner with her beau – Rocky Jaiswal. But Hina neither refuses nor confirms her participation of the show. For Colors channel, Chandrakanta will be produced by Balaji Telefilms.
On the other end, Nikhil Sinha famed from Siya Ke Ram is making the version of Chandrakanta for Like Ok channel. He is best known for his superb amalgamation techniques and content and that’s why his last show got a grand success.
People, who used to watch television shows during 1990s, must be well familiar with Chandrakanta, based on a novel written by Devaki Nandan Khatri and it has special place in Hindi literature. The novel and later the TV serial is based on the love story between princess Chandrakanta and prince Virendra Singh. Now, we are eager to see whom we will actually see as the princess Chandrakanta – Suvneen Chawla or Shilpa Anand for Like Ok? Or Hina Khan for Colors?
