There are people who play important roles in our life. Those roles are small in duration but they leave a significant impact often. Such is the case with a few roles we saw in Bollywood movies where the actor appeared on screen for a very short duration but left an impression indeed.
1. Salman Khan- Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Given that the main roles were taken over by SRK and Kajol with all the chemistry between them that made men smile (or smirk) and women swoon, we still did have Salman Appear for a very short time. His role was nevertheless lovable and managed to make an impression. It was difficult not to feel for the character actually.
2. R.Madhavan- Rang De Basanti
Compared to the other actor’s roles in RDB, Raghavan’s role had a small screen time. It was his death that spurred his friends to rise to the occasion and speak out against corruption. Strangely though, his character remains etched in the minds of other people as well as the audience.
3. Nawazuddin Siddiqui- Kahani
Siddiqui is known for his portrayal of characters with grit. He does that in Kahani too where he essayed the role of a police officer hot on the trail of a terrorist. Granted Vidya Balan was the main character or the protagonist but Siddiqui alongside made his presence felt in a much shorter time than Balan.
4. Swara Bhaskar- Ranjhanaa
Swara Bhaskar’s role in Ranjhanaa was based on a real life character. Her character was helpless against the lack of love from the one she loves with all her heart. Short though her role was, the audience certainly empathized with the character- a testimony to the actress’ talent.
5. Lisa Haydon- Queen
Two completely different personalities. But they went on to become friends. Lisa became a friend to the helpless and jilted Kangana who was out on her “single honeymoon”. She meets Lisa and they forge a relation that needs no language and crosses all barriers. And indeed, scenes involving the two together turned out to be some of the most memorable in a film that had more than a few things memorable about it.
6. Jimmy Shergill- A Wednesday
Shergill is one of those actors in Bollywood who despite his good looks and acting talent find breaking into the top list of actors hard. However, he seems to be making the best of the roles that he does play-even if the role commands a small screen time. Such is the case in A Wednesday- a film in which Shergill appeared for just about 10 minutes with very few lines of dialogues to his name.
7. Irrfan Khan- Haidar
Haidar is undoubtedly one of the most powerful films to have come out of Bollywood in recent times. And for that reason, it certainly merited the presence of such an actor as Irrfan Khan. The fact that the role of the mysterious person who thinks the various doings of the Army is funny lacked a long screen time didn’t matter-not when the charter is portrayed by someone with Khan’s panache.
8. Pavan Malhotra- Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Pavan Malhotra is someone who consistently delivers good performances. However, that hasn’t earned him the type of stature which he deserves. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was one of those films which revved up expectations but fell far short of it when it came out. But still, Pavan Malhotra’s role of a super-emotional sardarji was a saving grace.
