Lots of biopics are being made now-a-days. Some interesting stories have been seen on celluloid as a result. It seems that another exciting character will be brought alive by director Shivam Nair who has previously helmed Tapsee Pannu starrer Naam Shabana. Plans of making Uzma Ahmed’s biopic has been on the minds of director for over a year now. Several changes have been made to the script over time.
In this movie, three major characters are expected to be seen who will play onscreen counterpart of Uzma, Sushma Swaraj and Indian diplomat JP Singh who has been the Deputy High Commissioner from India in Islamabad. The story can be looked as both emotional and heroic. Uzma has fallen love with a man called Tahir Ali, a bus driver. For this man, Uzma has gone to a place called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, she realized later that the man is already married with four kids. On the occasion, Uzma has been obliged to marry the man at gun point. However, she has managed to escape from there and brought back in India. Through the movie, entire journey of Uzma will be showcased.
Saif Ali Khan has been signed for the movie already to play the part of diplomat JP Dutta. Now, it has been heard that Shivam has been discussing with a leading heroine from Bollywood for Uzma’s role. According to our source, “Shivam wants to have a prominent face as Uzma. Although there were initial talks initiated with Ileana D’Cruz and Parineeti Chopra around two years ago, now, he has almost closed the deal with Shraddha Kapoor. He met Shraddha and narrated the whole story to her. She has liked it a lot and feels it will be her most powerful character till date. She has verbally given it a go ahead but the makers are meeting the actress once she’s back from Austria (she’s shooting a song for Saaho there). After the meeting, they will discuss the modalities.”
If Shraddha agrees to play the part then reach of the movie may be widened. It has been said, “Shraddha is an extremely popular face among the youth and since the film has a brilliant story anyway, Shivam believes this might be a turning point in Shraddha’s career too. Not to mention that it will also position the film better for the producers.”
