Rishi Kapoor is known to speak his mind, both in the real and the virtual world. His honest and forthright tweets often land him in the face of controversy. During the ICC Women’s World Cup final at Lord’s in London, Bollywood celebs were seen tweeting their support to our talented cricketers. However, the senior Kapoor went a step ahead and wrote, “Waiting for a repeat of Sourav Ganguly’s act on the balcony of The Lords Ground, London, when India beat England 2002 NatWest series final! YO,” referring to Ganguly’s act of taking off his shirt during the 2002 win.
He also shared a picture of Saurav caught in the act. Well, naturally, trolls barged in with abuses and jokes regarding Rishi Kapoor’s tweet. Not able to take it any longer, the senior Kapoor tweeted his clarification saying, “WHAT WRONG HAVE I SAID? I DIDNT SAY ANY FEMALE PLAYER SHOULD! I ONLY SAID SOURAV GANGULY SHOULD REPEAT HIS SHOW. YOU HAVE A WRONG MIND DEAR!”
A slip of tongue, perhaps?
On the work front, Rishi is all set to share screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan after over two decades in the upcoming film 102 Not Out. The film that is said to be based on Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play 102 Not Out, will see Amitabh playing a 102-year-old man while Rishi will portray the character of his 75-year-old son.
Amitabh and Rishi have previously worked in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, and Kabhi Kabhie.
