In addition to Indian movies, Chairperson of FTII Anupam Kher has done a lot of prominent roles in West also. The actor can be seen in the movie called Silver Lining Playbook in the past and recently in The Big Sick by Kumail Nanijani. Now, Anupam Kher has signed medical drama titled New Amsterdam where he will be playing the role of a neurosurgeon. It is series by NBC that is scheduled to premiere on 25th September.
Based on a source, we can say “Anupam will be away from the country for nearly seven months. He will be stationed in New York and will shoot almost continuously.” For this breakthrough of Anupam Kher in the West, his best friend and veteran actor Anil Kapoor has said “I’m so happy for Anupam because he is doing well in Hollywood.”
Later on, Anil has also said “I have stayed away from home for a great length of time when I was shooting for movies and web series in the West. I always stayed at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles and booked myself an entire floor. My simple mantra in life is — work hard, but live like a king. I have given Anupam the same advice. I told him that while in NY, he should pamper himself when he is not shooting. I also told him not to cut corners and book himself into a suite that provides lots of comfort and good amenities. After all, you have just one life. We actors work really hard, but we must also realise that when we unwind, we must do it with style.”
Few days ago, Anupam Kher has left for NY. On the occasion, Anupam Kher has posted a video on social media that says he will be missing India while he is away for work. Initially, the actor has been really excited for the series. However, he likes to enjoy company of friends and family at the same time.
