For Ted Talks India – Nayi Soch, Shahrukh has been garnering a lot of attention as the host. From the beginning of the show, it has been talk of the town. Recently, Mithila Raj, Indian Women Cricket Team Captain has appeared on the show in order to talk about the difficulties that she has faced in order to play cricket for the country. Shahrukh is really impressed by the performance of Mithali in addition to the current women cricket team and praised them.
Shahrukh has been so amazed by Mithali that he has asked her to coach his franchise in Indian Premiere League or IPL called Kolkata Knight Rider. Shahrukh has said clearly on the occasion “I want you to be the coach for my team, KKR.” In reply, Mithali has promised “’I would give it my best (if that happens).”
Mithali has come for a special show in order to talk and celebrate women power. From a source, we have come to know “Mithali spoke to Shah Rukh about her struggles, the prejudices she battled to become a cricketer and the experience of making it to the World Cups final last year. Even before the shoot started, they had a conversation about the association.”
Till now, coaches like Dav Whatmore, John Buchanan, Trevor Bayliss and South African player Jacques Kallis have been part of KKR team as an expert trainer.
Regarding the show, Shahrukh has said in the past “People will share stories about changes in society, in life — whether it’s about the climate, dangerous diseases or to help empower women — and all of this will be integrated. There are some beautiful stories — both Indian and international — which the team is planning to get on one platform and do a nice mix of Hindi and English speakers. I feel it will be a niche show.”
During the launch, Shahrukh has said “TED Talks India gives me a platform to just be ME,” and then added, “I’m not just a lover I’ve been portraying on screen but I’m love itself.” Shahrukh had also said, “Whatever ideas you have good, bad, ugly, they all have a place and you should express it and that’s why there is TED Talks India.” “Many-a-times I have not shared my ideas & seen it being used somewhere else and that disturbed me immensely,”
