Following to the success of Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh is really busy at the moment with the preparation of Kabir Khan’s movie ’83 which is based upon India’s first World Cup win in the year 1983. In the movie, Ranveer is playing the role of legendary fast bowler and former captain of India Kapil Dev under whose leadership the World Cup trophy is lifted by India. Shooting of the movie is expected to start from 15th May. Just prior to the shooting, Ranveer Singh along with his co-star in the movie Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Chirag Patil, Harrdy Sandhu, Adinath Kothare, Jatin Sharma and some others have gone to Dharmashala for a cricket boot camp.
Talking about the training at the boot camp, director Kabir Khan has said “It’s a cricket boot camp at the beautiful Kangra stadium up in the mountains. We will live together and train like a cricket team for the next 10 days. Many of the players from the original squad will also be here to train the actors.” Starting from 15th May, there will be a 100 day shooting schedule in London and Scotland.
Regarding preparation for the movie ’83, a source has revealed “Besides Kapil paaji’s distinctive mannerisms, Ranveer also wants to perfect his trademark outswinger before shoot kicks off. His training is a combination of cricketing skills and training with physical conditioning.”
Ex-player Balvnder Singh Sandhu is coaching the team that will be seen onscreen. Rajiv Sharma has also joined the team as a fitness coach and trainer. In addition to the ensemble cast, Pankaj Tripathi will be seen in the movie too and he will be playing the role of team manager PR Man Singh.
Reliance Entertainment is presenting the movie ’83 while it is produced by Madhu Mantena, Kabir Khan and Vishnu Induri. Release of the movie is scheduled on 10th April, 2020.
