Finishing Gully Boy shooting by Zoya Akhtar, now Ranveer is preparing for his character in Rohit Shetty directed Simmba. In the movie Simmba, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan has been casted opposite Ranveer Singh. Simmba is believed to be a Hindi remake of a Telegu movie called Temper where Ranveer will be featured as a strong cop.

To portray the role of a cop, Ranveer will go through a huge physical transformation. Therefore, excruciating schedule of workout has been started by Ranveer already. He will have a muscle packed body for Simmba.

However, a shoulder injury has been suffered by Ranveer Singh recently. On asking whether his injury has affected his workout schedule in any way, he said Of course, coming out of injury and embarking on a physical transformation process presents an extra set of challenges but I have also transformed physically coming out of a shoulder injury before (he suffered from a shoulder injury while shooting for Bajirao Mastani) so I know what I am in for. Also, having gone through physical transformations for pretty much every character and film, I am aware of how my body responds.”

During an interview previously, Ranveer has shown his excitement on working with Golmaal director Rohit Shetty in Simmba. Padmavaat actor Ranveer Singh has said, I am so lucky to be working with Rohit Shetty, he is the king of masala films. People are looking forward to us working together and I am happy to see that kind of excitement level. These are the types of films I have grown up watching. Masala films are in my blood and I’m very excited to be working in Simmba. Better who than Rohit Shetty, the king of that genre, so I m definitely looking forward.”

Later on, Ranveer Kapoor has added If I have to give myself credit, I have made my own luck and opportunities could come my way. Now that it has, I am over the moon and I can’t tell you how lucky I feel in and as Simmba in a Rohit Shetty film. It’s an incredible feeling.”

Regarding workout schedule, Ranveer has said Rohit sir had told me [about the physique] a long time back and was clear about the kind of body he wished for me to have. So, now it’s time to put the blinkers on, put my head down, work hard, and acquire the body that he wants.” Release of Simmba is scheduled on 28th December, 2018.
