The beautiful Bollywood actress Surveen Chawla has already won the audience with her performance in the television dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa; however, the journey of her career has not been that much easy.
Once in an interview with a media, she revealed,
“I was propositioned, though luckily I had the strength to turn down the offer to be ‘nice’ to the director even if it meant losing a plum role.”
Surveen Chawla also clarified that she had never faced such indecent offers in Bollywood film industry, rather it happened in Tamil film industry where she went for an audition and succeeded to bag a significant role. Surveen was unfortunate when she received a call from one of the director’s friend who offered her to sleep with the director adding “The friend told me it would only be until the film was made. I said, thanks but no thanks”.
Earlier, Surveen opened up about casting couch in another interview saying she did not want to remember those phone calls and messages as she was not that kind of person. The Hate Story 2 actress is ready to wait until she gets the right kind of work for her. Even she too believes that to survive in this industry, people need a little bit luck as well.
In the open up interview session, Suvreen shared her experience how she was offered to act for the ‘bold’ roles after her debut film Hate Story 2.
“I don’t know if my screen image makes me look like an easy target. But I have to say, I was offered a whole lot of supposedly bold and sexy roles after I did Hate Story 2. This industry slots and tags you… After Hate Story, I was flooded with cheesy, salacious roles. I was labelled bold. I could have given in to the temptation of doing these roles. It was money that I urgently needed to live in Mumbai.”
The fearless actress has been receiving rave reviews everywhere for her performance in Leena Yadav’s Parched where she has played the role of a rural dancer and sex worker. Suvreen who started her career from a small Kannada film almost 9 years ago, has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi and Hindi films. Finally, she has overcome the struggle period dominating the traumas including the frightful casting couch.
