Frightful night of Mumbai Attack on 26th November, 2008 is hard to forget whether you are a Mumbaikar or not. Now, 12 years have passed from the day of terror attacks. Recently, Amazon Prime Video has announced an Amazon Original Series on the incident called ‘Mumbai Diaries’. The story is going to be depicted from the eyes of doctors, nurses and medical staff through the series. In order to save lives, they have worked tirelessly throughout the nights and subsequent days. First look of the show has been unveiled. Streaming of the show is scheduled on March, 2021.
In this series, Mohit Raina, Konkana Sen Sharma, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Tina Desai are going to play the leads. Nikhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves have collaborated together to direct the web series.
Regarding theme of the show, director Nikhil Advani has said “We Mumbaikars often discuss where we were on that fateful night when this devastating incident shook the entire city. There have been several shows and films centred on the incident but no one has explored the doctors’ side of it. With this medical drama, we aim to champion the human spirit in the face of unprecedented danger and celebrate the brave doctors who had saved the day while keeping the sensitivity of the topic in mind.”
Amazon Prime Videos’ Head of India Originals Aparna Purohit has said “The dreadful night of Mumbai terror attacks of November 26 is etched into the minds of every Indian. Mumbai Diaries 26/11 pays homage to all the frontline workers, martyrs and their families who risked their lives to save others. We are unveiling the first look of the series as an ode to their bravery and sacrifice. The show is a tribute to the spirit of Mumbai. We are extremely happy to collaborate with one of India’s finest directors, Nikkhil Advani, to present the untold stories of 26/11.”
