Mulk Trailer: Islamophobia Is Highlighted Through This Court Drama With Taapsee Pannu And Rishi Kapoor

On 9th July, trailer of Taapsee Pannu and Rishi Kapoor starrer court room drama named Mulk has been unveiled. In the movie, Ashutosh Rana and Rajat Kapoor can be found in pivotal roles also. From the trailer, we have got to know a lot about the movie.

In fact, the movie is based upon true incident. Through the trailer which is about 2 minutes 40 seconds long, you may see the journey of Murad Ali Mohammed aka Rishi Kapoor. Here, Murad Ali Mohammed’s son Shahid Mohammed played by Prateik Babbar is suspected for bomb blast. Following to the bomb blast, Shahid has fled away.

Therefore, Murad has been arrested by police instead of Shahid. Now, everyone from the locality is thinking that Murad has supported the bomb blast too. Therefore, he has been accused as traitor and urged to go back to Pakistan.

Now, Aarti played by Taapsee Pannu has taken the case of this Muslim family. From the trailer, it is quite clear that the movie is talking about the issue of Islampphobia here. Perceptions related to the religion have been questioned here.

As a lawyer, Taapsse looks convincing as Aarti who promises justice. However, it is not clear now whether character of Aarti is related to Murad family or not.

Role of an elderly man has been portrayed wonderfully by Rishi Kapoor who has been humiliated with this court case. The character has been humanized by the actor.

Being the lawyer of opposite party, Ashutosh Rana has mouthed dialogues like “Ye Dharma ke naam pe nirdosh logo ki hatya karte hain aur phir baadme kehte hain ki har musalman aisa nahin hota”

In a statement earlier Taapsee has said about Mulk,This is a film which we all have done with our hearts because of the topic it deals with. It’s purely a passion-driven project for each and every member of the cast and crew. The energies on the set were so good and it drove us all to finish the film in record time. It has been an extremely satisfying experience
