The news buzz is that after Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy’s is going to star next opposite none other than Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma. Salman Khan is getting ready to launch his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma DNA reported earlier. The 26-year-old is planning to make his debut in Bollywood through a movie tentatively titled Raat Baaki. Earlier reports mentioned Aayush and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. However, the latest reports state that it’s not Katrina Kaif, but TV hottie Mouni Roy who will star opposite him.
Mouni Roy made her first Bollywood appearance with an item number in Tum Bin 2 (2016) where she appeared in the reprised version of famous Punjabi track Nachna Aunda Nahin, choreographed by Remo D’souza. Her next outing is opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold. Salman Khan, is apparently quite fond of the 31-year-old actress, who was also a part of TV feature Supernight with Tubelight.
Earlier DNA had reported that Salman had seen the same spark in Sonakshi Sinha when he launched her in Dabangg. He sees Mouni as being extremely desi, a traditional Indian heroine draped in a saree.
Mouni has been receiving a lot of attention of late, and this could be her launch-pad in Bollywood now that she already has another film lined up after Gold. In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress was asked whether films were always her aim, to which she said, “I am not ambitious at all, but I am passionate about my work. Who doesn’t want to do better in life? When you’re an actor, you want better roles and better projects. You want to put your mind to use and push yourself creatively. Films let you play different characters, unlike in daily soaps, where you play one role for a long time. Having said that, TV has given me my life. It is my bread and butter. It is my place of worship, so I am forever indebted to the television industry and Ekta ma’am (Kapoor; producer).”
