Lyca Productions is known for bankrolling big budget movies such as Kaappaan and 2.0. Right now, they have been busy with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan and Kamal Hasan’s Indian 2. It has been heard that the production house is interested to bankroll a Bollywood movie. For the first project, Lyca Productions may collaborate with Abhishek Bachchan. According to the reports, the upcoming movie is going to be the biggest in the career of Breathe 2 actor.
From a source, we have come to know “The team had been planning to make their foray into Hindi films for sometime, ever since Akshay Kumar & Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 released. They are looking at developing projects that cater to a pan-Indian audience.” Later on, it has been also added “Lyca Productions has roped in Abhishek Bachchan as the male lead for their next. It’s a taut thriller that has been in the works for sometime now. When Abhishek was approached for the same, he loved the whole concept and idea behind the project. It’s going to be one of Abhishek’s biggest films till date as the makers plan to mount it on a huge scale. It’s tentatively titled 65 Karats, but that hasn’t been locked.”
Next, Abhishek Bachchan is expected to be seen in Anurag Basu directed anthology movie Ludo. He is also playing the lead in The BIG Bull that is based on the Harshad Mehta case. The financial scam has happened between 1990 and 2000. Anand Pandit and Ajay Devgn is producing the movie while Kookie Gulati has been helming it. Sohum Shah and Illeana D’Cruz is part of the movie as well. Talking about the movie The Big Bull, Abhishek Bachchan has said in an interview, “The Big Bull isn’t historical. It is based in Mumbai in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It’s a rags to riches story, a story of ambition that if you work towards your goal, you’ll definitely achieve it.” Premiere of the movie is going to happen on Amazon Prime Video.
