Recently, it has been announced that Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kasyap will be coming together for another anthology movie after Lust Stories and it has been titled ‘Ghost Stories’. First time, these four directors have come together for Bombay Talkies on the centenary of Indian cinema. Instead of romance, horror stories will be presented by the directors now.
In fact, Zoya Akhtar has started the shooting for her short in the anthology already. Gully Boy director has signed Janhvi Kapoor and Vijay Verma for this web short. Announcing the project, Zoya has posted a picture of clapperboard on Instagram and the caption reads “Rolling & Rocking #ghoststories #my7thfilm#iloveshortfilms @janhvikapoor@itsvijayvarma #tigerbaby #rsvp@n”
In the past, Zoya Akhtar has worked with Vijay Verma in Gully Boy which has released in the beginning of 2019 starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. It has been one of the highest grossers in the year. Gully Boy has released in the theatres on 14th February. Earlier in the year, Zoya has also directed a web series called Made in Heaven that has been aired on Amazon Prime.
Ghost Stories will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films in collaboration with Ashi Dua’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment and Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby. Ghost Stories will be aired on Netflix. It is expected to be second collaboration between RSVP Films and Netflix. Previously, they have worked together on Vicky Kaushal’s web drama titled Love Per Square Feet.
Apart from Ghost Stories, Janhvi has been shooting for Kargil Girl and Roohi Afza with Rajkummar Rao simultaneously.
