Shah Rukh Khan was awarded by the honorary doctorate by a Hyderabad-based versity – Maulana Azad Urdu University. He has been conferred with this horror because of his contribution for the promotion of Urdu culture.
Today, the Bollywood actor received the award by the Chancellor Zafar Sareshwala who conferred him with the ‘honours causa’ (doctor of letters) as he provided to Khan and Rekha Foundation founder Sanjiv Saraf on the occasion of the university’s sixth convocation.
Undoubtedly, SRK was delighted after receiving such prestigious degree for the third time in his life. He expressed his happiness on being conferred of the doctorate by saying that this honor would make his (late) father proud who was a freedom fighter. The actor also added that he would try his best to carry out the responsibility imparted on him. In fact, President Pranab Mukherjee was scheduled to join the program as the honorary chief guest. But before starting the program, it was informed from the organizer’s side that due to some unavoidable reasons, the President could not attend the programme.
It was such a proud moment for the Raees actor whereas he was also awarded previously the Legion of Honour, the highest civilian honor in France and an honorary doctorate from the Edinburgh University.
