Makers of Sidharth Malhotra starrer Marjaavaan has announced now that the movie is going to release on 22nd November. It is action thriller which contains a lot of VFX. Regarding VFX in the movie, Bhushan Kumar has added “The film needs this kind of VFX especially with Riteish as a dwarf.” Previously, the movie is expected to release on 2nd October alongside Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘War’. Regarding the delay, co-producer of the movie Nikhil Advani has said “It is important that we give Marjaavaan a suitable release. We’re proud of Milap’s inimitable filmmaking style and unique language that we expect will exceed audience expectations.”
In this movie, Riteish Deshmukh will be seen as a vertically challenged person. He is expected to be seen in a negative shade in the movie. About Riteish’s character in the movie, director Milap Zaveri has said “We decided to make his villain a three-foot-tall but larger-than-life midget with a wicked sense of humour. His Vishnu is arrogant and thinks he is invincible.” On the occasion, it has been also informed that the character has taken analogy from fifth avatar of Lord Vishnu, Vaaman who has been also a dwarf.
On asking about common point between character of Riteish Deshmukh in Marjaavaan and Shahrukh Khan in Zero, Milap has added “Shah Rukh played a smaller version of himself. We storyboarded the screenplay and had a midget gentleman on the set for Riteish to imbibe certain mannerisms and ensure he didn’t go overboard or underplay the physical aspects of his character.”
Talking about the technical challenges faced to shoot Riteish’s scene, the director has told us “We shot Riteish’s scenes against the green screen and without it for perspective. His eyeline has to match that of others so Riteish shot looking up, while his co-stars looked down. We couldn’t use two-three camera setups for Riteish’s scenes as we did for others. So, every shot had to be taken five times.”
