Success of Sanju has brought some smile in the face of Ranbir Kapoor. Prior to the release of this movie, Ranbir is going through a dud at the box office due to films like Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos. Right now, Ranbir has been shooting for buddy Ayan Mukerji’s movie Brahmastra. It is a big budget movie that is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
During Ranbir Kapoor’s career, he has seen a lot of failures. In fact, debut movie of Ranbir Kapoor named Saawariya directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has bombed at the box office. Ranbir Kapoor has been a part of Anurag Kasyap’s Bombay Velvet as well which has not been received well by the audience and then there is Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jassos which has been produced by Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor as well. During a recent interview, Ranbir has said he does not feel sorry to be part of these movies.
During teaser launch of Sanju, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has talked about Ranbir’s lack of sense when it comes to choice of script. Chopra has even called Ranbir ‘an idiot’ for this reason. Reacting to this, Ranbir has said “I don’t regret (being a part of) any film that I have done (till date). Be it Bombay Velvet, Saawariya (2007) or Jagga Jasoos, they all came naturally from (within) me. So, they will always be a part of me. It’s like they are your children so yes, the successful ones are obviously there but it’s the failed ones that you will (always) be close to because you are always like, ‘why didn’t people love them?’ You always feel attached to them.”
Elaborating on the subject further, Ranbir has said “I had an incredible experience while working on these films. They have really added [a lot] to my growth as a person as well as an actor.”
Ranbir has also agreed to the fact that he is not too bothered about success or failure as he will get chances to prove himself in the future again.
